I live in Groningen, the Netherlands On Facebook i call myself Steef Smookpan. For now ;) I was 14 years young when my dad gave me a little 5 channel Roelofs mixer. I had my tuner and 1 turntable plugged in and a tapedeck to record. My first mix recordings are radio broadcsats whith a vinyl record. Strange recordings, i didn't even have pitch control on my turntable then hehe. The pile of equipment started to expand, i did a lot of remixing of popular tunes, i played a couple school parties and bought my very own SL 1200 mkII turntable when i was 17, or 18. Played a few clubs in Groningen late 80's. In 1992 i had a job in a store 6 days a week, no time to become a house dj. I had no records and with no records, people don't book you. Was to busy having a great time in the Groningen House scene anyway so i created mixes and remixes at home. My stuff was played on a local radioshow. One time i created a ridiculous but funny rmx of the Beatles together with 'Stakker Humanoid' and that mix made me a bit famous for a little while hehe. I also played 'live' in the 90's but never had time to do research for vinyl. I have maybe 15 trance related records and that's it. I even played a few times with my M-R35 md players but that's not mixing for me. Nowadays i mix Goa Trance. And i created this little page so i can post my mixes. They are easilly accessable for everyone and it's just fun for me to create a page like this. These days i use software to mix. Wow i love putting my mixes together digitally. Although i can mix live, i love digital. It's flawless, almost to perfectly mixed but i like that. To make a mix as perfect as i can...
