How to make a pole lathe using readily available timber and making it very quickly! There are plans for a lathe similar to this in Mike Abbotts very good book that I recommend and give five stars called 'Living Wood - From Buying a Woodland to Making a Chair' (1st edition published 2002) which contains a detailed chapter on building this type of lathe, together with full dimensions and cutting list. Mike has written a number of excellent books on green woodworking that contain lots of useful information. In this film I am making a pole lathe from shop bought timber - its a rapid build, which means you could have a pole lathe up and running in a day or so.
