Fashion 'says It' With Lace (1935)

Titles read: 'NOW THE Special Pathe Pictorial Section for the Ladies - Fashion 'says it' with lace.' Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Several shots of women in an old drawing room, modelling the latest frocks that can be made from Nottingham lace. Commentator explains that Nottingham, being the centre of the British lace industry, holds a ball each year to show off the new dresses and designs. The dresses are very feminine and elegant. One has a decollete back with draped lace either side. Another is a close-fitting evening gown in a modern lace design. A woman wears an opera cloak with a high organdie collar. Another wears a 'picture frock' in lace with a large corsage at the waist and a lace stole to match. We then see several shots of ballerinas in period dress (1800s?) dancing at the ball while the guests stand around watching.
