⋆ R e f u g e ⋆ from the upcoming album, Myriad Worlds, 2022 ★Myriad Worlds now available for pre-order!: ★Stream/download Refuge: ★Tabs/Score for Refuge: ★Instagram: ★Facebook: ★Website: ★YouTube: This is a short tune that came to me two year ago from the comfort zone while working on more painstaking concepts for other compositions. Originally, I wrote it in thoughts and empathy towards all my acquaintances, and all the people and living creatures that lost their homes due to the fires that were happening in California. I was stuck at home due to lockdown and the bad air quality. It was very smoky, the skies looked orange, raining ashes outside my home, it was a dark time. While all these strange things saddened me and a mixture of things made me doubtful, fearful, and hopeless, I realized how lucky I was, to be stuck at home, a home that didn’t burn into ashes, me and my loved ones were healthy, and safe. I also found that in that time, to my emotional distress, my own refuge was my instrument, my music. Here in this video however, I gave a different story which portrays a different story/s/ outside my own, and my own world. This music video features 3/4 main fictional characters/protagonists of the Myriad Worlds programmatic album project, of which two of them are performers of the duet; one playing the main lap tapping part, and the other one playing the supporting harp guitar part, and the third one being another crafted character with a life of her own…I wanted to fit her scenes in the video while keeping the performance scenes of the others, but the song itself is short, so the editing portion was quite a task for me, haha! and though it might be difficult to catch what’s happening, my aim isn’t for this particular story to be entirely understood. The video ultimately tries to portray fear, pain, tragedy, obstacles, but also courage and resilience, and refuge in the midst of the storm. It also celebrates the forces of love, friendship, womanhood, sisterhood, motherhood, nature, and freedom. As usual, my most desired goal is to make some sort of connection with anyone that might be in need for this, and hopefully foster uplifting positive energy through the overall scheme of these creations.  Huge thanks to my engineers, Derek and Andy! The best people I have worked with! (I could write essays about how amazing and wonderful they are…) Credits: Recorded by Derek Bianchi, in Berkeley CA. Audio mix, synths, and additional production by Andy Sorenson at Translator, Mparntwe, Australia. Video by Janet Noguera  Music by Janet Noguera
