On Sunday my girlfriend and I did some railfanning. Our first stop was New Baden, IL. at the East End Switch. We heard the NS dispatcher tell NS 112 to take the siding at New Baden to meet NS 29N. The sidings along the old Southern are SS which stands for Spring Switch instead of controlled by a dispatcher. You’ll see the conductor on NS 112 throw the switch and lock it.
