After I put several pairs of lyretail killifish(Aphyosemion australe 'Gold') into my fish tank, I was fascinated by this small but energetic species. It didn't take long for me to decide to put another killifish species into my aquarium. Finally, I bought two pairs of two stripe lyretail killifish(Aphyosemion bivittatum 'Funge'). This species is indigenous of Nigeria and Cameroon. The word 'Funge' written after its species name represents the origin of population that shares unique color pattern different from that of population inhabits in Biafra. Both pink and orange color are clearly seen from the belly to the caudal peduncle of A. bivittatum 'Funge'; whereas A. bivittatum 'Biafra' seems relatively plain. In this video, you can see this fish expands its fins. Elongated dorsal fin is the symbol of mature male. The tip of dorsal fin will touch the end of caudal fin if this male grow more. #aphyosemionbivittatum'funge' #killifish #aphyosemion
