The Vamps ~ Disco Blood 1977 Disco Purrfection Version

Hey, Halloween is on the way so I thought why not upload something spooky you can dance to? I was ordering another title to work on when I saw “Disco Blood“ by The Vamps on a 12 single and added it on. The song tells a story of a vampire and the woman he ensnares, starting off with her rebuffing the vampire, she eventually falls under his spell and fully embraces the sexy vampire lifestyle. The song was released on the Brazilian based Building Record label in 1977 and scored a respectable #24 on the disco chart in October that same year. The premise is laughable and the theatrical execution pushes it way over the top but the music is impeccably produced. Notice the various accents that inflect the lyrics, it sounds like they are singing phonetically with a slight continental feel, but the by the time the victim is all horned up in the last part she sounds positively British. Must have been one hell of night that vampire must have given her to have her change accents. In any case It's a one off
