Full title reads: “Brooklands. Our most coveted Air Trophy. 46 pilots - two of them women - in machines of all sizes and speeds, compete in 1,000 mile race for the King's Cup - civil aviation's greatest honour. Brooklands, Surrey. A collection of aeroplanes (mostly biplanes) gathered in a field at Brooklands. Their engines are running and pilots and mechanics are walking around. The planes are lined up before they start.
