The Punnett square is a square diagram that is used to predict the genotypes of a particular cross or breeding experiment. It is named after Reginald C. Punnett, who devised the approach in 1905. The diagram is used by biologists to determine the probability of an offspring having a particular genotype. Problem: Wooly, sharply curled hair is caused by a rare dominant gene in European populations. A woman with wooly hair that belongs to the blood group O marries a man with straight hair that belongs to blood group AB. A) What are the chances that they will have a wooly haired group B child? B) What are the chances that they will have a normal haired group B child? C) If three normal haired group A children are born to these parents? D) What are the chances that the next child will be wooly haired group B? #PunnetSquare #Genetics #probability #productRule #statistics
