1992: Renshi Kurt Graham [6th Dan of Koryu Uchinadi under Hanshi Patrick McCarthy], training at the Yuishinkan honbu dojo in Kawasaki [Japan] with Grandmaster Sugino Yoshio [1904-1998]. In addition to being recognized as a 10th dan [IMAF], and the teacher of Mifune Toshio [the famous Japanese “Samurai“ actor] Sugino studied Aikido directly under Ueshiba Morihei and opened the second Aikikai dojo in 1935, and also taught Judo at Meiji University before the war.
