“Crossing the Pont Neuf with Montaigne“ is a performance by American essayist Jason Stoneking, commemorating the birthday of the first essayist, Michel de Montaigne, by carrying his portrait back and forth across the Parisian bridge that he had dreamed of crossing during his lifetime. The performance was assisted by Florencia Guerra, who distributed information about Montaigne to passers-by.
