The second video has been released showing the sheriff's deputy striking the State Trooper last week, causing the SUV to flip with both the K9 and the trooper inside. a sheriff’s deputy and a state trooper sustained injuries following a collision during a high-speed chase in Portage County. The incident began around 4 p.m. when Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers spotted a white Volkswagen SUV with stolen plates on South Arlington Street near Forbes Street in Akron. When troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver refused to pull over, prompting a pursuit. The chase proceeded onto Interstate 76 eastbound, with the SUV leading troopers into Portage County. A sheriff’s deputy joined the pursuit to assist. The SUV made an abrupt maneuver onto the State Route 43 exit ramp, cutting through a gore area before re-entering I-76. During this moment, the sheriff’s deputy and a state trooper collided, resulting in the termination of the chase. The sheriff’s deputy received minor injuries and was treated at the scene, while the state trooper was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His K-9 partner, Titus, who was also in the vehicle, was taken to a veterinarian clinic as a precaution. The name of the trooper has not yet been released. Investigators are currently reviewing leads concerning the suspected stolen SUV, and the case remains under active investigation.
