A sandstorm with strong winds hit Texas. A dust storm that swept northwest Texas on Sunday, February 26, painted the sky a hazy yellow. In Memphis, winds of 114 mph were recorded shortly after 6:00 pm. The meteorological office in Lubbock has issued a high wind warning as the sustained wind speeds average 50 mph. Powerful frontal winds of over 100 mph caused power outages in some places. From the northern Panhandle to El Paso, more than 100,000 people were left without power. #haboob
