Soprano Elizabeth Connell sings Elektra’s monologue “Orest“ of the opera by Richard Strauss in a performance given on 15 March 2005 in Berlin at the Staatsoper, conducted by Michael Boder. Orest is sung by Hanno Müller-Brachmann. Elizabeth Connell’s Elektra may be the most youthful and lyrical sounding interpretation of this role I know of. Not to mention the biggest top c’s!
