It was a dark chapter in the history of the Balkans and many died due to the greed of a few. It was a conflict marred by massacres and atrocities, by all three sides. Yet what was the result of the war? Who truly won? The Slovenes got their state, and so did the Croats, but what about Bosnia? What about the Serbs in Krajina and in Bosnia proper? Saying who won is difficult, but saying who lost is easy. Bosnia today has never truly healed from the wounds of the past, and the band-aids that are holding together Bosnia are again threatened by a few who wish to take control. Sadly, there are those who say that war is not a matter of if, but when.
