Wembley Stadium, London. GV Packed stands. GV England in white shirts, kick-off. LV Crowd. LV Scotland attack down the right wing, the ball is crossed but Jimmy Meadows heads away. Ball goes to Bobby Johnstone, he has a slam but it strikes a solid wall of English defenders. Roger Byrne holds off McKenzie, ball runs to MacMillan (McMillan - alt. spelling) who balloons it over the bar. CU Scotland supporters in crowd. GV England attacking down the middle. SV Martin fails to hold a high ball, it runs loose to Nat Lofthouse who turns it inside. It runs to the waiting Wilshaw who crashes it home. LV Crowd. CU Stanley Matthews tricking with the ball. He beats two Scotland defenders before turning inside. He then positions himself in the open for a return pass which comes. He kills the ball, looks around for a well placed team mate. He is watched by two Scots defenders. As they move in to tackle, Matthews slips through both of them, passes to a team mate whose header is collected by goalkeeper Martin. SV Crowd. L
