Amplifying the sound of acoustic drums can be a real challenge at some venues. Also, drummers often need to perform with additional sounds to complement the music; a hand clap, a reverb snare or even a sample from a recording session layered on the acoustic drum sound – all can transform the musical feel of any drum kit. The RT-MicS is an acoustic drum microphone and a drum trigger in one unit. With a dedicated output for the microphone and for the trigger, each can be mixed independently. Eight pre-loaded samples are ready to go and user samples can be loaded simply by connecting the RT-MicS to a computer and using the dedicated software. In this video, drummer Max Coghlan adds the RT-MicS to his acoustic snare drum to amplify the sound and layer an acoustic clap, to complement the band’s performance.
