This is a recording of the Bardo Thödol, “Liberation in the Intermediate State Through Hearing” also called Tibetan Book of the Dead. In Tibetan Buddhism, this funerary text is recited to ease the consciousness of a recently deceased person through death & assist them into a favorable rebirth. The readers instructions have been removed so that this audio can be (repeatedly) played for the deceased immediately following their death, eliminating the need for a Monk/Priest (or reader) to sit with the deceased to read. Following the reading of the Bardo Thodol is an added recording of 'The Bardo Prayer Which Protects From Fear' which is also suggested to be read to the recently deceased, in addition to the Bardo Thodol. The first part, the recording of the Bardo Thodol, is read by Richard Gere from 'The Tibetan Book of the Dead' version that was translated by Francesca Fremantle & Chogyam Tryngpa, as indicated in the audio image.
