Opening Basics #4: Sicilian defense - Scheveningen and Classical variations

Two popular fifth move alternatives to the Najdorf and the Dragon are examined in this video, the Scheveningen variation and the Classical variation. Although the Scheveningen has lost popularity due to the Keres attack, there are still some interesting and playable lines available. The Classical variation, unlike the other lines, simply develops a knight and waits for white’s reply before committing to a pawn structure.
