The BBC has provoked ridicule after circulating a diversity survey to it’s own staff that did not include the option of ’heterosexual’ in the sexual orientation section. The Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS), who are BBC-funded journalists working in regional news organisations, shared the questionnaire online. The survey asking ’What is your sexual orientation?’ included options for ’bi/bisexual’, ’lesbian/gay woman’, ’gay man’, ’other sexual orientation’ and ’prefer not to say’.
