This song's tune is taken from the Russian song “Katyusha“. It's an Italian popular song whose text was written in September 1943, at the inception of the resistenza. The lyricist was Felice Cascione and the intention was to spur on the partisan movement. It was one of the most popular partisan songs along with Bella Ciao.
