Getting your green terror cichlid to an adult will take good water and high quality food. I feed my green terrors this hikari Flowerhorn food. It really explodes their colors. More Fish Aquarium Random-ness: Could be lots of things. I once used algae control thinking it was water conditioner, killed everything in the tank before I realized I messed up. Somehow that turned into getting a bigger tank and more fish. Lost 3 bass and my huge angel to columnaris in a 24 hour period. Seemed fine then dead soooo sad. That's what it seems like happened to them. Like they were all good one minute and I woke up to them being dead. I thought I over fed the betta since he looked bloated and fed him every other day, but I found him dead in a decor log last night. Sorry, I've been running around. My boyfriend came home we oth the flu and I had to take my baby to the doctor to make sure she was alright because she was showing the same symptoms as him. No problem at all. It's hard to deal with the fish deaths and understandable if you do go silent for a bit. Green Terror Cichlid Care (Tank Setup) I've had my tank soaking all morning. I love my bettas more than anything. After I moved them over here like a month ago the one betta got all depressed acting and didn't cheer up until I out more fish in the tank with him. All his tanks mates didn't make the trip bc they went into shock on the way over. Too many bumpy backroads around here to be transporting fish. How many litres was the tank. Have you tested your water. Can't tell you anything without basic information. it's a 10 gallon, but I didn't fill it to the brim. Tested the tap water and it came back between neutral and alkaline. I was either gonna boil some water and put in some easy balance or just buy bottled water and put it in. Have you tested the tank water I meant. If they all died then it's most likely an ammonia spike. Possibly too many fish for the filter to handle. Heythats ok depending on the fish. Most fish need bigger than a 10g tank. The smallest plecos need 30g. I'm British so gallons aren't my normal unit. What filter have you got? Adult green terror cichlid. You were certainly over stocked from your earlier comment. It definitely sounds like ammonia spike too. From the gills flared etc. Or perhaps high chlorine levels. Do you treat your tap water before adding to the tank on your weekly water changes? no, I've never had to before. I've got an aqueon filter for 10 to 20 gallons, that way if I wanted to size up to a 20 gallon, I wouldn't have to buy another filter. Loaches can supplement their air by breathing from the surface so it may have been more resistant to what could happen have killed your fish if it was a water quality issue. High ammonia could still burn its gills but could last longer . You never know when a spike can occur from a dead fish or snail or some other cause to take out our fish.
