Discover Another Nalanda University Of India. Ratnagiri is a site in the Jajpur district of Odisha, India. It's a Buddhist center and site of a ruined mahavihara, which was once the main Buddhist monastery in modern Odisha. Ratnagiri is located on a hill between the Birupa and Brahmani rivers, and is part of the Buddhist Diamond Triangle, along with Udayagiri and Lalitgiri. The site includes a Buddhist circuit of stupas, monasteries, and chaityas, and is known for its Tantric cult Buddhism, also known as Vajrayana.
