We were filming this trying to have fun but I was as serious as I could when I was recording the sound. I have been in love with this music for more than 25 years and I have just realised how I can let it flow: you can join a band to play Pink Floyd' The Wall but its almost impossible to bring dozensof people together to play JCSS. Sometimes you have to wait for the right decision. It seems to me that I had known this opera even before most of Beatles' albums: I was nearly eight when my parents fixed their vintage reel-to-reel tape-recorder. One of two or three tapes they had in their collection (ABBA was the second) was the tape with the “Opera“ as we called JCSS those times. So I'm pretty sure we didn't use to listen to other operas those shiver that this music evoked in me when I was eight was the same that Since I've Been Loving You and Kashmir would evoke in me years later.
