Govan, Strathclyde, Glasgow. Title: “Another Cruiser Launched. . Berwick - christened by Lady Stirling Maxwell - takes to the water“. C/U if Lady Maxwell, surrounded by a distinguished crowd of men and women. She hits a lever with a small mallet that mechanically smashes a champagne bottle against the hull of the ship. L/S of the ship sliding down the slipway into the River Clyde, a crowd of dockers watch from the foreground. L/S of the ship at sea, it is decorated with bunting. L/S of a tug boat dragging the ship out to sea, by a chain attached to the prow. After a second of spacing, cuts / out takes start at 02:00:01.
