Ramirez became one of the youngest boxers in history to win an Olympic gold medal when he dominated the field at London 2012 at just 18-years-old. Although the result surprised many, Ramirez had been seen as a potential phenom in Cuba for many years, after achieving magnificent results at the junior and youth levels. Victory in the 2010 AIBA Youth World Championships was followed by Youth Olympic Games gold, and he won his first Cuban National Championships a year later. Part of the excitement surrounding Cuba’s entry into WSB was down to fans keen to see Ramirez compete across a longer round format, and he did not disappoint in Season IV with two impressive victories. After winning his second Cuban title in 2014, Ramirez has won three times in Season V, including a memorable semi-final triumph over Mexico’s Ivan Delgado. Still only 21-years-old, the Domadore is one of the most dazzling fighters to watch in WSB, especially when he uses his effortless combination punching to both the head and body Amateur boxing record : undefeated in WSB, Youth olympic games, Singapour, 2010 - Gold medalist AIBA Youth world amateur championships, Baku, 2010 - Gold medalist Pan American, Guadalajara, 2011 - Gold Medalist Olympic Games, 2012, Londres - Gold medalist Facebook :
