This is a reconstruction of a flapping wing mechanism I designed about ten years ago. It has been expanded to more realistically simulate the motion of dragonfly wings. By introducing a fixed coupling between pitch and yaw oscillations, the motion of the wings is consistent through the entire cycle, regardless of wing load. Also, the mechanism can be paired with a second unit to balance inertial forces from the actuation system. Fixed phase coupling is achieved using a pair of scotch yokes driven by a share
