After George quit the sessions on the 10th, John, Paul, and Ringo spent much of the rest of the day’s session working on this new Paul song. The musical arrangement is noticeably different at this stage, and still has some lines about “twenty Pakistanis living in a council flat” that initially inspired the lyrics.
