I really like using the deep cross grip in my randori. I feel as though it puts your opponent under a lot of pressure and paves the way for a variety of different attacks, forwards, backwards and sideways. If your opponent already knows you like the deep cross grip or reacts as you take the sleeve by moving sideways to escape being dominated in that deep position, move with your opponent to the side and follow up with the Okuri Ashi Haraiu (or De Ashi Harai to be way, just get them on their back for that IPPON!!!). If you haven't watched it yet, go check out Part 1 where I looked at two different options (Kouchi Gari or Ouchi Gari) for when you've taken the deep cross grip and your opponent defends to their rear - And in Part 2 of this little series, I look at using the Sumi Gaeshi as a way of throwing your opponent when they “defend“ by keeping their weight forwards and driving into you - What's your go to technique from this grippin
