At least four people died in Romania's southeastern region of Galati on Saturday as rivers surged after heavy rainfall — described in a CNN report as the heaviest in decades — battered central and eastern Europe. A slow-moving low-pressure system named Storm Boris has brought a month's worth of rainfall to several of Europe’s historic capitals, including Vienna in Austria, Bratislava in Slovakia and Prague in the Czech Republic, CNN reported. According to Reuters, tens of thousands of houses in Romania and the Czech Republic were left without power, with more rain forecast for the coming days. Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, southern Germany and parts of Austria are also likely to continue to receive heavy rain, according to weather forecasts. #europe #flood #extremeweather #news18 News18 Mobile App -
