Titles read: “Now Pathetone presents the celebrated Coster Comedian Gus Elen - in 'The Postman's Holiday'.“ London (probably Pathe Studio). Various shots of comedian Gus Elen dressed as a postman and singing, in a cockney voice, about a day out he had with his wife and half a dozen kids, which they spent travelling all over London. This is quite good as 'cockney acts' go, although the opening line is considered very offensive today - “I work just like a nigger... “. (Followed by Pathetone end titles.) Note: there seems to be some confusion in paperwork as to what the title of the song is - I think it the song is 'A Nice Quiet Day' and the act is called 'The Postman's Holiday'. Duplicate exists in Turns Can 15 - see separate record for details. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
