8,000,000 Cheque Presented To Britain By Australia (1949)

This is the third occasion in the last three years upon which such a cheque has come from Australia, making in all the large total of £45,000,000 Australian or £36,000,000 sterling. This amounts to more than 5 million (mistake) pounds for every man woman and child in Australia.
