Here we explore how phenethylamines such as MDMA and methamphetamine bind to transporter proteins such as serotonin transporter protein. A docking experiment is carried out using AutoDock Smina in virtual reality via Naome’s plugin system, and results are analyzed. MDMA-assisted therapy represents a potential breakthrough treatment that is worth moving into clinical evaluation. MDMA will likely become an FDA approved medication for PTSD.
