Part of Hungary's history that's easy to overlook as you take in the sweeping vistas of the Parliament or Buda Castle on the Buda side is its period of communist rule. Yet it played a significant part in shaping the country last century. One of the best ways to get a feel for it is to hop in a vintage Trabant car, popular in the Eastern Bloc, and visit Memento Park, where relocated statues of communism's great and good can be found. Our Budapest city hosts Judit and Norbi tried out this tour earlier this summer.
