#Bach #JSBach #Baroque #ClassicalMusic The late German conductor Karl Ristenpart (1900-1967) leads the Saar Chamber Radio Orchestra in this performance from 1960 of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 6 in B-flat major, BWV 1051. I created this video from a cassette (distributed on the Nonesuch label in the early 1970s and long since out of print), an image of which appears at the close of this presentation. The image you see during the second movement is from the cover of the cassette packaging. Ristenpart was (and is) regarded as one of the preeminent exponents of Bach's (and Telemann's) orchestral works. 1. Allegro 2. Adagio ma non troppo (6:46) 3. Allegro (11:44) More from Ristenpart: Bach / Karl Ristenpart, 1960: Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F major, BWV 1046 - Complete - Bach / Karl Ristenpart, 1960: Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G major, BWV 1049 - Complete -
