25 years ago, Meshuggah unleashed the monster “Chaosphere,“ a monumental release that forever transformed my musical perspective and significantly enriched my guitar playing. Although I didn't get properly into it upon its release in 1998, it hit me a few years later. Also, my tuning (drop A# ) I use since Sybreed is the same than Chaosphere 😉 The profound impact of Meshuggah's sound is unmistakably recognisable into Sybreed's tracks like Synthetic Breed, Dynamic, Emma 0, among others.. Anyway, to celebrate that and as a reverence for this influential piece of music, I did a little cover of one of my favorite songs: “The Mouth Licking What You’ve Bled”. And you can see that I'm really focused on trying to play it correctly 😅 I’m using an instance of Bogren Digital’s Ampknob BDH 5169, which as usual sounds like perfection without doing anything but playing.
