Epica - The Essence of Silence (Vocal Cover by Kristin Starkey + Achraf Loudiy)

One of my absolute favorite tracks from Epica's album The Quantum Engima! (instrumental from deluxe edition) I had an awesome time doing this cover collab with my great friend Achraf from the amazingly talented Canadian symphonic metal band Aeternam! In this cover, I'm using what I can only describe as MEGA CROSSOVER operatic belt techniques which include switching between them in the same breath. The basis of doing something like this is directing the air stream and vowel placements towards the “back“ and “front“ of my head at the right moments. Certainly not easy to master, but I had a ton of fun covering this song! I got a ton of requests about lessons from my last video, and I do offer them!
