EVENING BELL: meeting the departing day We handed over to the Kostyukovich Museum of Local History (Mogilev Region) materials about my great-grandfather Efim Yakovlevich Tereshenkov, who was born in the Belarusian village of Prusino. They say that a writer's talent can be determined by one paragraph. He had many of them: “The short-lived soldiers' graves were drawn into the ground, the flimsy birch crosses were weakened and fell; stray horses, barely dragging their feet, gathered at the burial mounds - the grass on them was higher and juicier - but they did not graze, but only stood with their heads down until their legs gave way. And then they lay down next to those who, perhaps, gave them food and lovingly combed their manes ...“ I hope that his books, photographs, awards will make up a modest museum exhibition. He deserves it not only for his books. My great-grandfather marched as a sapper from bell to bell during the First World War, and then fought against the Japanese invaders... Source: Lord Of War
