John Bull and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, two of the foremost keyboard composers of the early 17th century. Already in those days, composers knew each others' works, and used it in their own music. The manualiter fantasy by English composer John Bull, on a fugue by Dutch composer Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, is stark and somewhat forbidding, dating from the Tudor period. I recorded this on april 1, 2012 on the Flentrop organ of Kerkelijk Centrum De Bron, Nieuwegein, The Netherlands.
