“Forcing Fungi to Share since the Mid-Cretaceous“... That would be the logo of the genus Thismia, from the mycoheterotrophic family Burmanniaceae. In a shady wet temperate rainfor composed of Eucalyptus regnans (among 3 or 4 other species of Euc), accompanied by our friend James, we were introduced to Thismia rodwayi, one of 95 species in this genus that is mostly restricted to SE Asia and Australasia, save for a few species in Brazil and Costa Rica. Flowers are bisexual (diagram included) and pollinated by fungus gnats.
