George Galloway has won the Rochdale by-election, defeating the incumbent Labour Party who finished a distant fourth. Mr Galloway, from the Workers Party of Britain, ran on a pro-Palestinian ticket at a time when Sir Keir Starmer is under pressure to take a harder line on Gaza. In his victory speech, he said: “Keir Starmer - this is for Gaza.
