Charted at #34 on Billboard Hot 100 in July 1969, and #11 on Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. Very reminiscent of the type of songs Bobby Goldsboro was having success with at the time, such as “Autumn Of My Life“. A version by Waylon Jennings charted at #20 Country. A later remake by Nat Stuckey charted at #26 Country in 1978. Original Billboard review: “Poignant ballad currently climbing the country chart via the Waylon Jennings version has all the ingredients to carry Vinton to a top chart spot. Beautiful material with a top performance“. Written by Doyle Marsh & Bud Reneau. B-side is “So Many Lonely Girls“ (an instrumental).
