Ok, Romantic Rebikov at its best with these 6 melancholic and ambivalent pieces. There are a lot of Chopin influences but also some Rachmaninov and Scriabin (the last piece). Then, jazz harmonies and fourths as always at some points. I really really really love these pieces. Why are they so unknown, it is so unfair!! Of course they don't reach a level of Rachmaninov or so, but they are very solid and modernistic pieces which deserve to be played more often. 0:00 Con tristessa (these harmonies!) 2:00 Pregando (preaching) 3:54 Con afflizione (isnt this incredibly beautiful?) 5:50 Con doloro (Rebikov ending) 7:25 Con tristezza e tenerezza (ok this one is quite straightforward but has some nice harmonies to offer; also look at the ending) 9:10 Lugubre (probably my favorite...)
