FIBERGLASS MOLD MAKING PROCESS: In fiberglass mold making, the first plug is made. The plug is the exact representation of the component to be made. It can be made from different types of materials, usually some sort of foam. After the plug has been made, the mold release agent is sprayed on it. This agent makes it easier for mold to be separated from the plug once it's finished. This agent is a special wax or a Polyvinyl alcohol. But it is assumed that it will have negative effects on the final mold's surface. LAYING-UP PROCESS: Then when the release agent and Gelcoat are applied, layers of fiberglass and resin are put into the mold. In this, a layer of fiberglass is applied and then resin is applied on top of that. For removing the air bubbles and making the surface even, a special roller is used. The fiberglass spray lay-up process can provide good filling of corners,if glass or weave is too stiff.
