I am experimenting with 2 types of hibiscus flowers in this video. i also have experimented a lot in the past with hibiscus and I am in love with the results. In this video I have done 3 different variations on application. Things you will need:- -Cotton/ Silk Fabric -Alum powder solution -Steamer -Hibiscus flowers 🌺(2 are enough for small swatches ) -Thread 🧵 The Process:- -You will need to moderate your fabric prior dyeing/ printing. For moderating you will need a vessel with 5 litre of water and 4-5 tps of alum powder and let it boil then you need to add detergent in the boiling water and stir it well until all the gas is out. Once that is done now you can put your fabric in the solution and let it simmer for an hour, it will remove all the Grease and dirt from the fabric, you can use the fabric for dyeing once it’s moderated. - if you have to direct print it you can simply wet the fabric in a alum water solution for a while and then work with the further process - lay the wet fabric on the flat surface and start putting the hibiscus petals on it, nicely separate the petals and place them on half length of the fabric, then you fold the fabric in half and roll it from other end, make sure you roll It nice and close so the petals gets pressed onto the fabric. Once’s it’s rolled you must tie it tightly with the thread or string so it won’t open up. -you need to take a steamer with little water and let it boil, once the water is boiler you can put another place into the steamer and place your bundle, let it rest in it for an hour or two at the maximum, occasionally after 15-20 minutes you can turn the sides of the bundle so the steam evenly gets in. After an hour or two you can turn of the gas and let it cool down and then you can unwrap your fabric to see the magic. . . . . #bundledye #flowerprinting #ecodyeing #hibiscusdye #hibiscusflower #hibiscuspetals #colourextraction #naturaldye #organic #naturaldyer #ethicaldesigner #naturaldye #botanicals #ecoprinting #shivanimagdum
