Mournful Moon - Rose Velvet Dynasty (full album, 2022)

I teased you with an advance single a few weeks ago, and today I can now proudly present the new full album, and conceptual reimagining of Greek band Mournful Moon – following their EP of eerie dungeon black metal atmospheres with this vivid reincarnation in symphonic gothic romanticism. Rose Velvet Dynasty is an album of sumptuous grotesqueries, raw reverie and velveteen cruelty, mixing powerfully evocative synths that infuse every track with a celestial stupor, with vocal characters of guttural, ethereal and caustic, all unfurling round the incandescent core of riffs and smouldering rhythms that beat with a vampiric elegance and saw the soul into primal dirt. This is a richly detailed album, that is going to get a lot more listens from me, and I hope it catches other ears like it’s caught mine.
