“Osu“, or “Push“, is a short film by the godfather of anime, Osamu Tezuka. Due to a delay in completion of another film, “The Legend of the Forest“, which was to be exhibited at the Hiroshima International Animation Festival, this work was quickly produced as a replacement. Not to be confused with Tezuka's 1962 short of the same name, “Osu“ is set in a convenient world where vending machines offer just about everything. Our hero procures whatever he needs from machines on his journey to see the creator, but these miraculous machines cannot give him what he truly wants, a brand new Earth. The story reflects Tezuka's environmentalist ethos, which is apparent in much of his life's work. © Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd.
