Indigenous Kiwis rally against equal rights bill Around 42,000 New Zealanders rallied in front of Parliament on Tuesday, with hundreds performing a haka war dance, in one of the country’s largest ever protests – against a bill that would, ironically, give everyone equal rights. The bill seeks to reinterpret the 184-year-old treaty signed between the British and the indigenous Maori, by stripping the latter of their special status that granted preferential rights and privileges. The protest seems to have worked as it is confirmed the bill will not get enough support to pass. #NewZealand #Maori Source: RT News
