Ending of Act II of Schubert’s FIERRABRAS Emma, the king’s daughter, has just been persuaded not to elope with Eginhard. Everyone thinks she has been kidnapped against her will. As Fierrabras escorts her back to her father, her father discovers them and accuses Fierrabras of trying to abduct her. Fierrabras selflessly takes the blame because he doesn’t want the two lovers’ happiness destroyed even though he is secretly in love with Emma himself.
