Britain is considering developing long-range missiles that can take out Putin’s nuclear weapons launched from inside Russia, The Times reported. The UK has signalled it will work with Germany to build a weapon with a range of about 3,200 kilometres (2,000 miles), diplomatic sources disclosed. Allies envisage the weapon being able to travel from as far as Berlin to Moscow if Putin decides to launch tactical nuclear weapons. The UK Defence Secretary reportedly discussed the plan to jointly develop a new strategic missile with his German counterpart recently. Under the plans, the long-range missiles would be stationed in Germany, replacing US missiles that will be deployed there in the coming years. The UK signed a joint declaration with Germany that committed both nations to deepen defence cooperation and mentioned long-range capabilities. #russia #uk #germany #russiaukrainewar #usa #nato n18oc_world n18oc_crux 0:00 INTRODUCTION 1:05 UK, GERMANY RUSH TO BOOST “LONG-RANGE CAPABILITIES” 3:25 US MISSILES TO “BRIDGE” GAP IN EUROPE’S AIR DEFENCES 4:28 UK, GERMANY MOVE LINKED TO US CPS CONCEPT? 5:20 RUSSIA WARNS OF “TIT FOR TAT” MEASURES CRUX is your daily video news guide to the big events that are shaping our world.
